"Visiting the Cafe That's So Good You Forget it's Run By a Cult" Article Review

Whilst this article exposes the fact that the Yellow Deli Restaurant chain, owned and operated by the half-billion dollar sect, the Twelve Tribes of Israel, is indeed a cult, and is indeed ethically questionable, it praises the food and service, which makes me wish to intervene here to fill in some important gaps. Perhaps they had a limited word count. Please allow me to assist them with that.

Said authors are, most certainly and with good right, poking fun at something that is outright ridiculous on the one hand, but only casually quotes that this cult harms children, ruins lives, tears apart families and traps it's victims. It seems to be lacking a much needed undercurrent of seriousness. So, I shall indulge.

If it were myself reviewing this cult's slave labour operations, I would be delving a little deeper into the myriads of stories reported of child abuse, theft of property & bank accounts and utilizing known mind control techniques to ensure members are unable to think for themselves. I would talk about the difference between eating Swiss cheese and making people's minds into Swiss cheese.

I would certainly mention it's unpaid worker force that were serving you their "scrumptious" vegan fare. Perhaps relay their curious interest in creating unmarked graves, as well as their habit of moving bodies out of graveyards. I may even be so bold as to mention they tend to harbor known kidnappers and child molesters. That's a far cry from the image dancing in a circle provokes.

It would behoove me to raise awareness that this world wide group, which begun in the 70's by cult leader Eugene Spriggs & his wife, based out of Tennessee, also stalk and haunt ex-members after they have survived being kicked out on the streets with no friends, family, nor money to assist them regaining control of their own lives once again.

Educating the unsuspecting public that this smiley faced, burger flipping, hippie dressing sect uses spy techniques that the CIA would envy, fake online profiles, pretending to be documentary film makers or other ex-members, etc., to infiltrate groups of recovering ex-members & attempt to lour them back to the group, or else to silence them from speaking out and exposing the darkness that is this cult, would be my ethical due diligence.

So perhaps, now, that so-called delicious food has a grievously unpleasant aftertaste? Do you think now they deserve such a fine review? Each to their own? It doesn't really matter?

Food for thought.
